About this place
The marinated grilled skewers are an early draw at Ōfuna, with pork jowl and chicken among the choices. Each order comes with 2 skewers and costs 400 yen. One diner described the meat as tender, with a strongly flavoured sauce and grated garlic served alongside. Another particularly enjoyed the pork jowl and chicken versions. The regular grilled skewers include liver, small intestine, heart, tongue and pork jowl, each priced at 150 yen. Adding the marinated options makes it easy to try a few different flavours.
Between skewers, there is “Croquette mixture” (Korokke no moto). One diner said the dish had a more pronounced potato flavour than expected, with a sweetness that stood out. The same diner found the serving rather large for one person. A modest order may suit a solo meal, while the dish could be shared among a group.
The menu also offers small plates beyond the grill, including chopped horse mackerel sashimi, stewed beef tendon and broccoli and tuna salad. One diner reported that the horse mackerel came with spring onion and ginger, and described the beef tendon stew as a dish that lets the meat take centre stage. That gives diners the option of focusing on grilled food or ordering several small plates. Drinks include draft beer and highballs, as well as sake and sudachi citrus sours. There is plenty of choice whether the plan is a skewer or two with a drink, or a slower meal with sashimi and small plates.
Diners have reported standing-room service on the 1 floor, with tables on the 2 floor for those who prefer to sit. The layout offers different ways to spend an evening, from a brief solo stop to a longer meal with several dishes.
